Jenny’s work is rooted in the landscape, but absorbed sensory information and topographical detail serve only as a starting point for each piece.
As each work unfolds and the constantly reworked and changing surface becomes more complex, the concern is formal resolution of the image whilst retaining it’s painterly qualities and the sense of place.
Attention is focused on structure, tension, expression and mark making - and in juxtapositions of colour, which is of huge importance, and how it describes space and reflects mood.
